Ontario Repairing Roads And Bridges

    McGuinty Government Safeguards Road Safety

    QUEEN'S PARK, April 4 /CNW/ -

    NEWS

Ontario will provide Kawartha Lakes with $250,000 to improve the Omemee
Pigeon River Bridge on Highway 7.
This one-time investment comes from the 2008 Ontario Budget to fund 35
projects across the province. Municipalities can use the money to repair local
roads and bridges that connect two ends of a provincial highway through an
urban municipality, often referred to as a connecting link road.
Funding is distributed based on submissions from municipalities.

    QUOTES

"Investing in Ontario's infrastructure encourages economic growth, keeps
our roads and bridges safe and creates thousands of jobs," said Transportation
Minister Jim Bradley (http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/about/minister.htm).
