    TORONTO, May 9 /CNW/ -

    NEWS

Construction work is planned on Highway 35 in the Townships of Algonquin
Highlands and Minden Hills this summer to improve road safety and driving
conditions.

    <<
    Work includes:
    - Repaving Highway 35 for 3.8 kilometres in selected areas
    - Repairing the Beech River, Kennisis River and the Ox Narrows bridges.
    >>

The $5.2-million construction contract was awarded to Miller Paving
Limited of Markham and is expected to be complete by fall 2009. During
construction, drivers on Highway 35 will have to share a single lane as
directed by temporary traffic lights or a flag-person
(http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/traveller/constructionzone.htm). Drivers may
occasionally have to travel on a gravel surface.
