McGuinty Government Preserves Road Safety TORONTO, July 21 /CNW/ - NEWS New traffic signals with energy-efficient LED (Light Emitting Diode) lights will be installed during the refurbishment of the Highway 401 and Highbury Avenue intersection in London this summer. << Additional work includes: - Repairing the bridge over Highway 401 - Improving the Highway 401 exit ramps to Highbury Avenue - Repairing four kilometres of pavement on Highbury Avenue >> Ontario and the City of London are completing this $6.5-million construction project. The contract was awarded to Lafarge Paving & Construction Limited of London and should be completed by late fall 2008. During construction, traffic on Highbury Avenue, through the interchange area, will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. At times, the exit ramps at Highway 401 will be closed. Signs will be posted in advance to notify drivers of closures.
