TORONTO, Aug. 11 /CNW/ - "On behalf of the Government of Ontario, I would like to once again thank emergency personnel, support services and all those involved in containing yesterday's propane explosion. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Leek family and hope for the safe return of the missing Sunrise Propane employee. "I would also like to applaud area residents for their ongoing cooperation and patience. "As Community Safety Minister, I am today reaffirming the McGuinty government's commitment to working with all partners to ensure public safety concerns are met. "The partners include the Technical Standards and Safety Authority which governs the storage and distribution of propane and gas and the City of Toronto which is responsible for zoning issues. Our government will do its part and work cooperatively alongside all partners to ensure an incident such as the one we saw yesterday, does not reoccur. "The McGuinty government is committed to doing everything possible to promote public safety. That is why our government will immediately commence a cross-ministry review to determine what provincial measures should be taken to ensure we are doing everything possible to keep all Ontarians safe." << ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ontario.ca/safety-news Disponible en français >>
