McGuinty Government Continues To Keep Ontario's Highways In Top Condition
BARRIE, ON, Sept. 17 /CNW/ -

The southbound lanes on Highway 400 from Forbes Road to Highway 11 in
Simcoe County, north of Barrie, will be repaved to improve road safety and
driving conditions.
The $7.2-million construction contract was awarded to Walker Aggregates
Incorporated of Collingwood and is expected to be complete by July 2009.
During construction, southbound lanes on Highway 400 will be reduced to a
single lane and the speed limit will be reduced to 80 kilometres per hour.
However, to minimize the inconvenience to drivers, two lanes of traffic will
be available on weekends during the recreational season from May 15 to
September 2 of each construction season.
Drivers are reminded that speeding fines and demerit points are increased
in areas where construction workers are present.
