McGuinty Government Helps Kick-Off Fundraising Drive TORONTO, Oct. 3 /CNW/ - NEWS Ontario is contributing $100,000 to help restore the Ontario Fire Fighter Memorial that was defaced by vandals last May. Community Safety and Correctional Services Minister Rick Bartolucci announced the McGuinty government's contribution today at the memorial site at Queen's Park. The Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association hopes to raise $500,000 to restore the memorial, which honours firefighters killed in the line of duty. Each year, the names of fallen firefighters are added to the memorial in a special ceremony. The public can make a contribution to the "Ontario Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Restoration Fund" at any TD Canada Trust branch in Ontario.
